The prayer, or prayers, Jesus gave his friends. They could pray the one, or use the other as a model for prayer. Then they knew how to do it!

From (the) Evil

"Deliver us from evil" is the familiar request. Are we (being) delivered from evil?

That request might have been made by victims; perhaps even by the perpetrators.... (I do not imagine it is hard to apply the word "evil" to what the images evoke.)

Light

Jesus and the Light

The word “light” is used in the description of Jesus himself, his message and his role. Light here conveys the senses of the source of inner enlightenment and, by rolling back the darkness, of making visible what would otherwise not be “seen”.
